Definition
In trade it is often specified as Inseam. It is not the same as the total leg length from the waistband or from the waist to the floor.
In simple words
The appropriate inner leg length depends on the shape of the trousers, the height of the shoes and the desired fit of the trousers. Wide trousers can be worn longer than narrow cropped trousers. Fabrics can also change their length after washing or when unhung.
What to pay attention to
- Measure a pair of well-fitting pants flat from the crotch seam to the hem.
- Try on the pants with the shoes provided.
- Take note of possible running-in values and initially leave some reserve if changes are made.
Common misconceptions
Inseam length is not simply height or visible leg length. It is a concrete measurement on the inside of the leg.
ESKYNA note
The correct inner leg length is determined by the interaction between the cut, the shoe and the desired hemline.
